During the recent SEQ weather event, we received calls from Support Coordinators who needed to find immediate accommodation for their participants following local flooding or weather damage. Naturally, we responded immediately and, after a few phone calls and emails, were able to help. Some participants will be displaced for several months awaiting repairs.
For our own clients, we paid extra attention to ensure their safety, keep families engaged, and provide continuity of care given that some Disability Support Workers could have been unable to travel to their clients due to road closures. Even in the most difficult circumstances, essential care was never compromised.
It is also a timely reminder about the importance of partnering with great service providers who won’t let you down and who will go the extra mile for you.
